Hounslow Patient Leads
Work in partnership with our PCNs to shape and improve them.
We’re looking for up to three patients in each of our Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to work alongside us on different projects.
Your role would be to partner with the Clinical Directors and project leads, using feedback from patients and community groups in your area to inform and shape those projects.
This role offers an opportunity for you to:
- Use existing skills and experience to shape your local NHS.
- Help us get better at developing services with patients.
- Develop new skills and gain different experiences.
- Learn more about the NHS.
To apply for these roles, you need to be:
- A patient in one of Hounslow’s GP surgeries.
- Over 18 years old.
- Happy to be a named point of contact for patients in your PCN who may have queries about the agreed priorities.
- Happy to connect with and manage a two-way communication with Healthwatch, Patient Participation Groups in your PCN and community groups so a diverse range of voices are informing your input, including those considered hard to reach.
We’ll support you by:
- Allocating a named person from your PCN’s team to support you with the above activities. For example, this person will help facilitate communications across patients in your PCN to gather input into the agreed initiatives.
- Offer a minimum of a quarterly meeting with the Clinical Directors in your PCN, alongside meetings with leads for the agreed projects.
- Reimbursing reasonable expenses.
- Providing a payment for agreed meetings, at a rate of £30 for a meeting of up to 2 hours, £50 per half day and £80 for a full day. This is an optional payment as we know it won’t work for everyone. Those opting for payment would be paid by a nominated GP surgery in your PCN.
- We are happy to discuss other learning needs that would help you in this role and support these where feasible.
